About This Listing

Established in the early 1990s, Crews Maniac Sound is a Japanese domestic manufacturer of high end guitars and is widely used by professional musicians here in Japan.

The KTR JM is their riff on the ever popular offset style guitar but deviates from the original design mainly in the scale length which is medium 24.75" or medium scale. A comfortable C profile maple neck with the distinctive Crews headstock and a rosewood fingerboard is bolted to an alder body and features a very thin slightly matte looking lacquer finish throughout which is very smooth to the touch and gives the guitar a vintage appearance. Two K&T NFS Super Fat JM '61 give the guitar its voice which is unfettered by extraneous controls beyond the most basic 1 vol, 1 tone and a 3-way switch.

Lightweight and resonant, with a strong acoustic voice this guitar really excels at glassy clean sounds but is also perfectly capable when put through an overdriven amp. Fast runs up and down the neck are aided by the silky finish and the relatively spartan control layout is great for those of us who like to keep things simple.

Cosmetically there are scratches, dents and chipping out of the finish throughout especially on the back of the body, where there is also an approximately 1.8cm size gouge at the edge of the lower bout. Additionally there is some very minor hardware corrosion here and there but the frets remain robust and the guitar is in good playing condition overall.

The tremolo arm and the original gig bag is included although it should be noted the there are signs of wear to the interior.
