7/8 sized Amati copy violin ready to play with Aubert bridge and French strings. David Tomaino (Ralph Rabin's successor) in Madison, WI did the setup on this box and a local conductor here in Rockford adjusted the sound post to really maximize the sweetness. This violin projects and plays easily and has a balanced, even voice. Warm with slightly heightened mid tone, ~ the 500k area.
I've used this fiddle for many rehearsals and performances - it's a joy to play. You will dig the "slightly less than 4/4 feel" of this 7/8 sized, beautifully made instrument.
It's perfect for students that have grown past a 3/4 size but don't quite fit a 4/4. Violins in the 7/8 size come in super handy for this but aren't readily available. This higher end copy delivers.
Measures 580mm from tip of scroll to bottom of lower bout, approx. 23 inches.
Will include a decent, usable case.
