PLAYER'S PERSPECTIVE

We're stoked to bring you another beautiful creation from our friends over at the Fender Custom Shop! This 1963 Telecaster NOS is quite the looker with a few interesting tricks up its sleeve - and has an interesting backstory to boot!

We conceptualized the finish as a tribute to former Fender Custom Shop builder Alan Hamel, who created several awesome "metallic sparkle" finishes for FCS. The stunning Silver Sparkle Black Burst finish and clear pickguard on this one honors his Founders' Design Telecaster he built several years back, and we're stoked with how it turned out!

Of course, we had to put a few of our own special twists on it, including a roaring EVH Wolfgang bridge humbucker that sings and rips with reckless abandon. In conjunction with the signature twang of the Tele's brass saddles, this combination kicks some serious rock n' roll ass. It's also a nice compliment to the Twisted Tele neck pickup that sounds simply fantastic for cleans and liquid leads. The offkilter John 5 HB wiring also adds a unique element to this axe!

This guitar also features a beautiful one-piece 2A flamed quartersawn maple neck (unusual for a '60s-spec Telecaster, which usually have rosewood) that's both beautiful and supremely stable. The '59 Esquire neck shape also fills the hand nicely, being quite meaty but not too thick. It's the perfect profile that combines the best of vintage and modern. Adding onto this are some awesome 6150 Medium Jumbo frets and a 9.5" - 12" compound radius that makes both rhythm and lead playing absolutely effortless. This is definitely a player's Tele and one of the most versatile to ever come through the shop from a playability standpoint.

You know you're getting a special instrument in your hands any time you pick up something built by Fender's Custom Shop team, and this guitar is sure to not only meet but exceed your expectations.
