One of the rarest mandolins made by Lyon & Healy for the New York musical supply company, Carl Fischer.  This instruments continued structural integrity and playability exemplify the standards Lyon & Healy is still famous for today.   Constructed from  Brazilian rosewood, old growth Engelmann spruce, Spanish cedar and African ebony by the most skilled artisans of a bygone era.  It has incredible volume and sustain.  Excellent tone and good projection.   No harsh overtones.  The mandolin does not sound muddy when played loudly and cuts through nicely when playing melodies or chording softly.

Fitted with light Martin strings, there is a repaired side crack to the bowl and on the top below the bridge (glued and cleated).
