About This Listing

Welson DC3 First Edition!

This beautiful DC3 is coming up for sale from my personal collection.
It accompanied me for the past 5 years and the time has come to part ways.

This beautiful example has it all and if you look closely, you will find a few similarities with the American Harmony H75, H77 and H78. For example the three on/off switches on the upper bout, the three pickups (similar sounding to DeArmond/Rowe!) and the Headstock with the plastic veneer.

The body is rather wide, like an old 17“ Gretsch.

What I like best about this guitar is the tremolo.
Hands down the smoothest tremolo on a hollowbody I‘ve ever played. Y
ou can either use it for soft swells or have it in your hand while strumming to do all those shoegazy warbly sounds.

The lacquer is nitrocellulose and has beautiful thin hairline cracks as you know them from Gibsons and other 60s brands. It really adds a lot to the charm.

The neck is straight, the trussrod works fine and all frets are tight in place. Action is low, intonation is right and there are no deadspots whatsoever.
The playability of the neck is very unique though, since it‘s rather narrow but with a very round profile.
There aren't any issues with the tuning thanks to the Van Ghent tuners.

There‘s one small chip off on the back (pictured) and the input plate is not original, since the owner widened the hole, but it‘s all tight and working fine!

Even the bridge cover is there, which is rare nowadays!

I will include a new bag for safe shipping!

Let me know if you have any questions, I'm more than happy to help and answer anything that might be unclear for you.
