We're such big fans of Jazzmasters here at Rudy's, and for good reason: these guitars, along with the Jaguar, were intended to be the top of Fender's line for their earlier years of production, and they feel like it. These guitars have a more streamlined and elegant feel than Strats or Teles, and while vintage examples don't command the prices of their more famous cousins, they absolutely deserve their day in the sun.
This 1964 Candy Apple Red beauty is about as good as they get, with the Custom Color matching headstock to boot. This particular Candy is sprayed over silver, so it has a brighter sheen that is almost translucent in the right lights. There's a good amount of wear in expected places, but it adds to the character of this incredible guitar.
The neck is the expected '64 feel, sort of a D shape with a nice taper, and has very little wear on the back. The gorgeous fretboard is in excellent condition, along with the frets.
The electronics and pickups are all original, and sound brilliant, with that fat, wide tone that only Jazzmasters can achieve. Serial #L29018 comes with the original hard shell case.
