*Observations: This guitar is a rare Hagstrom make from 1959-60, although I was not able to find any pictures online with this exact configuration; all the other gold tops have black paint on the back and neck. The checking in the lacquer on the back would suggest that the white is the original finish, as does the yellowing of the original white finish; probably started out as a blue, red, or green sparkle top.

"Production lasted just one year - a total of 370 model 80s and 177 model 90s were sold, making these some of the rarest of all Hagström guitars." - Wikipedia

Tuners are not original. It also seems that the top was probably repainted because there is no "Goya" logo on the top like other guitars from this era, and there is no pickguard or holes from where a pickguard would have been attached.

The tailpiece is original. The original height adjustment nut on the bass side of the bridge is missing and has been replaced with a regular 6-sided nut; not sure if this turns or not; not sure if the bridge is original.

The electronics are all original and work properly, although the tone dial is scratchy.

The strap buttons and input jack are original, and the original "Goya Guitar Company" plaque is in place.

There is a crack running along the back, and from side to side, from where the two halves of the body were joined but it is solid. The action is high and does not appear to be adjustable without either replacing the bridge or re-setting the neck. Not an issue in the first position (open chords) but is quite high as you go up the fretboard. This would be a really cool slide guitar!

Case (obviously) is not original.
