About This Listing

1979 Music Man Sabre. S/N: C003143. Shipping negotiable to your location.

I bought this bass in 2005. When I bought it the seller told me that it was once owned by a recording studio in London. He told me it was used to record on a Siouxsie & The Banshees and a Peter Gabriel record. I have tried to confirm these details without success.

The seller also told me that bass had been allegedly played by Sting, but not used to record. These claims always struck me as so specific and random as to seem true. The seller also tried repeatedly to buy this bass back from me.

The neck on this thing feels amazing. It's got 'character' for days with all sorts of relic marks. The mark on the headstock near the nut in the last photo is from a cigarette burn where someone tucked their ciggie in behind the strings and left it too long.

I also have a brown toroise-shell pickguard that I had made to fit which I can send out with the bass.

Located in Brisbane, Australia. I don't currently have a case but message me if you're interested and we can work something out. I'm willing to discuss purchasing a case to protect in transit.
