There are some minor scuffs and dings here and there, but no cracks, scratches; just some light finish checking throughout. It has survived its first 70 years in fine shape overall. There's a tiny bit of a lip where the top meets the binding between the upper and lower bouts on the top. Couldn't get a good pic to show it but seems solid and stable.
Original except for the nut, which looks to have been replaced in 2019, bridge saddle, one of the knobs and maybe the tailpiece(?), but sure looks old enough. The jack plate has been reinforced as well. The original knobs both have some disintegration of the socket that fits over the shaft. One is still tight enough to use, the other slips too much but is included, along with another repro speed knob. Obviously the truss rod cover is non original as well, but I think it adds a bit of unique character. I got the guitar from the second owner about a year ago. He got it from the family of the original owner and was told that the plate was from the music store in Ohio where it was purchased new. The pickguard appears original, but at some point someone felt the need to burn in some sort of reminder of flats and sharps. Another personal touch.
Recently set up earlier this year, with some minor fret dressing and bridge adjustment, so it plays perfectly with nice low action. The P90 sounds like you's expect, with a sweet fat tone. Curently strung with Thomastik-Infeld Swing roundwounds that I had lying around and I'm sorry I used them. This guitar is at its best with flatwounds. All in all a solid, well-playing , great sounding 70 year old box.
Original case is in rough shape on the outside, but overall is solid.
