This is a very rare Kalamazoo KG2 made in 1965 with a mahogany body. Mahogany bodies were used by Gibson on the earliest 1965 Kalamazoos before they changed over to the wood/epoxy bodies later that same year. Overall it is in good condition, some dings here and there (see pics) but nothing too bad - frets have plenty of life left. There are a couple of cracks in the original pickguard (again, see pics)

The pickups are original (Melody Maker). The pickups are wired with a really unique custom wiring scheme - each pickup is switchable on/off + series/parallel. The cool thing is that even when wired in series the pickups are still independently controllable with the volume & tone pots - like a lot of the Danelectros are wired. This allows you to really dial in a ton of different tones.

The guitar has been upgraded with a Badass bridge and Kluson tuners but the original Kalamazoo hardware is included with the sale if you want to change it back.

Action is nice and low - the guitar plays great.

Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan by Gibson.
