Received in the store as a consignment, our understanding is that this Wildwood Troubadour 5-string banjo is one that was made in 1973, which would put it among Mark Platten's early instruments.
Featuring some delightful inlay work on the ebony fretboard, this instrument also has an added 5th string capo installed. The 3-piece neck and the rim are elegantly constructed and finished.
While the head shows clear wear on the treble side, our technicians' assessments lead us to believe that it continues to have good service life remaining. The hooks and nuts are in good condition; six show some patina from strap placement.
Instrument includes the pictured case.
