A lot of time and effort goes into creating a NOS item that feels like you just picked it up out of a music shop in 1964. Originally made in the 60s as Deluxe Model, the Jazz bass took elements from Fenders Jazzmaster and made the neck thinner and rounder to appeal to Jazz players. Early 60s models were equipped with double stack tone and volume knobs, which were then replaced by the 3-knob control system that is featured here. This NOS 1964 Fender Custom Shop Jazz bass was bought in with its original hard shell case and has the COA. The Jazz style pickups are clear and full and still sound great for slap bass players, even though they are passive. There are a few little dings(refer to pictures) in keeping with the NOS look. The quarter sawn maple neck has great relief and a bit of figuring that looks great and the slightly smaller neck width makes it comfortable to play without losing sustain or stability. The medium jumbo frets are clean and free of debris and have plenty of life. A few light lines in the nitrocellulose lacquer give this bass real vintage appeal. Upon ordering, the bass will be setup by our inhouse technician.
