This is a 1979 Ibanez Artist AR50 guitar.
It has all of it's original parts and plays/sounds great.
The pickups are the Super 70 humbuckers and are very articulate and well balanced.
The guitar is in nice shape with a carved mahogany
body and neck like a Gibson les paul.
There is some age/wear to the paint and the chrome parts. The finish has typical dings/nicks etc and a few chips that go through the paint.
The guitar had been given the Van Halen tape treatment at one point. When I removed the tape and buffed the finish back to being clean l notice two circular marks that appear to be dowels in the neck heel. They're difficult to photograph but I'm showing them from a few angles. I've had the guitar for a long time and didn't notice them until it was buffed out. JUST TO BE SAFE LET'S ASSUME THAT IT HAS A HEEL REPAIR and I'm lowering the price from $450 to $300.
Overall it's in nice shape for a 35 year old player.
Action is low/fast with room to raise/lower to suit your style. Frets are in good shape up the neck with no buzz but there are grooves along the "G" string on the 19th, 20th and 21st fret that should be buffed/crowned.
No case but ships professionally packed via FedEx.
