An absolutely stunning vintage Firebird with a story all it's own. This guitar came to us as a heirloom. The grandson of the originals owner wanted to find it a home where it would be cherished and enjoyed. He included with the guitar photos of his grandfather as well as letter from the family explaining the guitars linage.

When the guitar arrived, tragedy had struck. The lower wing and pickup leads were completely severed in transit as well as the headstock had split. Both the team here at Diablo and the family who'd sent the guitar were devastated.

Fortunately, Ronnie Monk; formerly of the Gibson Custom shop and current luthier at Diablo Guitars stepped in to save the day. Working from his private shop (Medium Rare Guitars) Ronnie took incredible care in the repair and restoration of this beauty. Absolutely no detail was left unexamined by the expert eye right down to the original Gibson spec braided wire.

The guitar is now in overall good condition for it’s age with moderate signs of play. It has finish check through out the instrument with some splits, scuffs/scratches, some light stand rash some dings/dents, finish wear and a few chips. (see pics)

This guitar ships with the afore mentioned letter from the family, as well as photos of the original owner, original guitar cable (non-functional) and original leather strap.

Guitar is freshly setup and restrung with 11-49 strings and includes Epiphone fitted firebird hardshell case.

Vintage Gibson Firebird V in Sunburst finish made in 1965 with Epiphone Firebird Hardshell Case (Restoration). This guitar features a solid mahogany wings body, 3-piece mahogany neck-thru and bound rosewood fingerboard with Reverse headstock.
