Kawai Vintage Prestige Electic Guitar 1960s - Red Burst

RARE, VINTAGE, KAWAI MANUFACTURED, PRESTIGE BRANDED, 1960S, MADE IN JAPAN ELECTRIC GUITAR with GOLD FOIL PICKUP unknown model number.

      To this day, 60 years after they were manufactured, many people still refer to any electric guitar manufactured in Japan during the 1960s as a “TEISCO” guitar! Although Teisco was one of the pioneers of the solid body electric guitar industry in Japan in the 1950s with their models TG-54,TN-54, J-1 and J-2, it was Kawai who were well positioned in the distribution of musical instruments when the 1960s guitar boom started, because of their piano manufacturing. Kawai became the GIANT of the 1960s Japanese electric guitar manufacturing industry, supplying many dozens of distributors in the USA and Euope with a steady supply of the guitars they demanded. Brands such as Decca, Domino, Ibanez, Kent, Kingston, National, Norma, Segova, Silvertone, St. George, Telestar, Audition, Kay, Noble, Truetone, Zimgar and many, many other Kawai manufactured guitars were branded with over 50 such names and more than 200 different models! Kawai gobbled up their competitors like Shino Gakki in 1966, and Teisco in 1967. Kawai continued to brand their own Kawai manufactured guitars as “TEISCO” into the late 1970s, launching what guitar collectors refer to as the “lawsuit” era, with Kawai producing copies of well known guitar models of Fender and Gibson until the intellectual property/copyright infringement issue was settled. (PLEASE NOTE: if you watch the video, the person playing the guitar is not me, and the guitar is the same brand, but NOT THE EXACT SAME GUITAR offered in this listing. All of my guitars have been fully tested and are functional. All of my guitars have been “set up” (neck straightness adjusted when possible, fingerboard oil treated (if rosewood/laurel/ebony), action set, pickup height optimized, intonation checked) to MY PERSONAL PREFERENCES (as LOW as possible). Please note: “setups” are not “one size fits all”. Your personal set up requirements might be different from mine, so, additional adjustments may be needed to suit your setup preferences. To protect the guitar from damage, the string tension will be relieved before shipping per Reverb.com requirements. You'll need to tune the guitar to pitch when it arrives. Let the instrument acclimate to your environment! Differences in altitude and temperature from my shop to your location have an effect on the instrument. Additionally, vibrations caused during days in a truck being shipped to you might loosen screws and bolts! This is a perfectly NORMAL occurrence during shipping! It doesn’t mean your instrument is DAMAGED! Because of all these factors, you will NOT be able to pull this instrument out of the shipping box and start playing it! Also, for optimal sound and playing ease, I advise buyers to put a new set of strings on the guitar, the string brand and gauge of their preference. If your guitar has a Tremolo Bridge DO NOT OVERTIGHT TREMOLO ARM WHEN YOU INSTALL THE ARM!!! YOU CAN DESTROY THE TREMOLO ARM BLOCK!!! I suggest you watch some YouTube videos about installing and using Tremolo Arms BEFORE YOU ATTEMPT TO INSTALL AND USE A Tremolo Arm.
