First Act custom shop was in Somerville, MA 2002-2010 ish. This one was likely made by Kelly Butler, formerly of Gibson Custom Shop and started the First Act Custom Shop. I believe he designed the Delia shape.
This one has the early headstock logo which is apparently on very few instruments. It also seems to have been produced before they adopted the official truss rod cover that the custom shop ended up using for this model and others.
The serial number starts with 06 so I think it may be from 06 but there is also a chance that it is from earlier, since I believe the custom shop started around 2002. So I will tentatively say 2002-2006.
Tuners changed to Sperzel USA locking. And the nut may be non original, as they generally used corian nuts.
There is a Proto (prototype) stamp on the back of the headstock.
Guitar is in amazing shape.
Weighs about 8.5 pounds.
Balances quite nicely, no significant neck dive (tiniest bit depending on strap material). Balances really well sitting in the lap as well.
Neck is a small to medium profile that is a slight D shape, to my perception. I think later Delias had a chunkier neck (based on what I heard K. Butler say in a podcast, not based on personal experience).
I really like the bridge pickup. I believe they were designed with Kelly Butler and produced by Kent Armstrong, but havent lifted these up to confirm. Other custom shop Delias were, so I assume these as well. I would describe the bridge humbucker as being low to medium output but having really present upper mids and clarity, so it punches a little bit harder than other low ish output humbuckers.
Neck p90 style pickup is mellow and open. Sort of round, smooth.
Comes with a hardshell case.
