Vincent Bach Corp.,

Bb Cornet Mouthpiece
Circa 1940's
Stamped #6C
Offered from my personal collection: this is a #6C cornet mouthpiece, made by Vincent Bach during his New York period. This was likely made around the late 1940's. The stamp has a period and comma after "Corp" dating it roughly between 1940 and 1953. All original. Untampered and in good condition. There are some marks on the upper shank. The plating is worn on the shank and on the rim edge, so it will need to be re-plated. I used it a bit with clear nail polish on the rim and that worked fine for me. Now just too many mouthpieces and selling off a whole box full plus some of my vintage cornets.
This mouthpiece has a pretty standard measurement with a 2.75" length, shank diameter from smallest point to largest .34" to .41". Plays with a smooth rounded tone. A great match for a vintage horn of the same period.
