Gibson Emmylou Harris Signature model in Antique Natural finish. Hand made in 2005 in Bozeman, Montana USA. Only a handful have Emmylou’s hand signed label.  

SJ-200 appointments in a smaller body. 2/3 the size of a SJ-200.

Unique features: Label hand signed by Emmylou Harris. 2/3 the size of a SJ-200. Old style “Nibbed” fret ends. Frets feature the old style “nibs” where the fingerboard binding meets the fret end only seen on Gibson’s most expensive guitars. It’s much more costly, time consuming, and requires a very skilled craftsman to match the fingerboard binding to the fret ends. 24.75" scale.

Comments: Very easy to play. Great slim neck that feels great for chords and bending strings. Limited edition. This guitar shows Gibson best effort in materials and craftsmanship. The guitar is loud with warmth, sustain and projection. The Sitka Spruce top has attractive silking and grain pattern. The back and sided are  book matched solid AAA flame maple. Out of production and limited to 50 pieces. If a J-200 body is too large and uncomfortable to play you’ll love the size of the EmmyLou Harris Signature model.

Condition: Very good.  No cracks or repairs.  Frets are excellent. Minor handling marks, scuffs, dings you’d expect to see on a guitar that’s been gently played.

Setup: Just had a professional set up. Frets, fingerboard, and bridge lightly buffed and polished by hand. Dunlop 65 Ultimate Lemon Oil applied to fingerboard and bridge and hand buffed to a beautiful smooth sheen. Truss rod adjusted. Elixer Polyweb Coated Acoustic Phosphor Bronze light gauge .012-.053. The body was cleaned with Virtuoso Premium Cleaner and polished with Virtuoso Premium Polish all by hand. The guitar feels smooth and has a great shine. Always kept at 50% humidity in my smoke free acoustic room. String height at the 12 fret low E string is >2/16”  You may prefer to have it set up to suit your personal preference.

TOP: AAA grade solid Sitka Spruce that has very attractive silking. Traditional double ring rosettes. Hand-scalloped X bracing with  radiused top bracing inside the body.

NECK JOINT: Hand fitted dove tail neck joint attached with hot hide glue for better adhesion and superior sound transference.

FINISH: Hand sprayed Nitro cellulous lacquer in Antique Natural.

BODY: Solid AAA Eastern flame maple back and sides.

BINDING: Front of body has 6 plys of binding, back of body has 4 plys of binding. Heel cap has 4 ply’s of binding. Neck and headstock have single ply binding.

PICKGUARD: J-200 style pickguard. Hand engraved and hand painted creme floral/poinsettia design with vines and 10 abalone dots.

NECK: 2 piece flame maple with walnut stringer.

FINGERBOARD: Solid Indian Rosewood with 8 graduated crown (pineapple shape) inlays in figured Mother-Of-Pearl. Frets feature the old style “nibs” where the fingerboard binding meets the fret end only seen on Gibson’s most expensive guitars. It’s much more costly, time consuming, and requires a very skilled craftsman to match the fingerboard binding to the fret ends. End of fingerboard has moustache point as seen on Gibson High end models like: Johnny Smiths, J-200’s, L-5’s and Super 400’s.

BRIDGE: Handmade moustache-shaped solid Indian Rosewood with cutout at bridge ends featuring 2 pearl ribbon inlays. Aged Bone Saddle. BRIDGE PLATE: Solid maple and labeled # 11 Emmylou

HEADSTOCK: has single ply of binding with Gibson logo and crest in colorful Mother-Of-Pearl.

TUNING MACHINES: Gold vintage style Gotoh tuners with pearloid buttons. 15:1 ratio for precision tuning in a durable housing that provides maximum protection for the gear and string post. All moving parts are precision cut for exact meshing, eliminating the possibility of slippage, with a special lubricant inside the gear box for smooth and accurate tuning.
