This is a replica of the Dennis Dunaway "Billion Dollar Baby" bass, with a 1974 Columbus bass used as a donor instrument.
Carefully placed small round mirrors and jewels on the body and headstock. It has been executed with care, and we think it's a worthy tribute and an affordable alternative to Fenders Custom Shop offering from a few years back.
A custom mirrored pickguard was installed with a Seymour Duncan P-Bass pickup to match the look of the Dunaway bass. The Duncan-designed jazz pickup has a higher output than the P-Bass pickup. Dialing down the volume on the bridge pickup allows a good balance between the two and hopefully gives the player the Dennis Dunaway's tone.
It plays well and the vintage Japanese Columbus bass is a nicely built instrument, with a further upgrade, a set of Wilkinson machine heads.
This bass belongs in an Alice Cooper tribute band or hanging on an Alice Cooper fan wall.
Sold with a good quality hard shell case.
