Here for sale we have a Westone Quantum X850 Headless Electric Bass from 1985 in a Black finish. Made in Japan, this bass features a Maple body, a headless Maple neck, a 'stepped down' body design, a top mounted string clamp, a 24-fret Rosewood fingerboard, and two Magnaflux RB humbucking pickups that are wired to independent volume controls and a master tone.

The Maple neck plays well, with the gloss black finish to the rear aiding in swift and smooth transitions up and down, and the nicely flat Rosewood fingerboard offering a comfortable playing surface. The long 32.25" scale and pearloid fret markers make this bass feel easy to navigate. The headless construction is well balanced and lightweight on the shoulders, with the carved leg rest on the body ensuring that this bass is also comfortable to play in a seated position.

The Quantum X850 is fitted with two massive sounding Magnaflux RB humbucking pickups. These pickups do a fantastic job of shaping the tone of the bass and providing exactly what you would want from a humbucking instrument whilst still allowing lots of that natural Maple tonewood sound to pull through. The controls keep things nice and simple with independent volume controls for the pickups and a master tone control for both.
