Epiphone Zenith made in 1952 in New York. Serial number 64593. This was purchased from the family of the owner who was a professional musician and traveled widely. The Zenith has simple appointments with an unbound dot Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard and single bound back and top. The instrument is parallel braced with two very clean tapered solid non-curfed braces, tucked nicely into their linings. Despite the shrinkage at the waste around the binding, the guitar is clean and original with no cracks, breaks or repairs. The tuners, tail piece, and bridge and truss rod cover are original. The addition of the McCarty pickup is a real nice contribution. The pickup sounds great and the guitar plays exceptionally well. The fingerboard and frets show very little play wear.
The action at the 12th fret is 1/8" on the bass side and 5/32" on the treble side.
The nut is 1 11/16"
Included in the sale is a vintage hard shell case with plush taupe interior with handle and all working latches.
48 hour approval on all guitars and amps.
