My company purchased this instrument new from Jupiter several years back. We sold it to a young lady who became a very accomplished trumpet player. This horn sold new for around $800.00 She traded it in for a Bach Strad. And is doing great with that horn!
Since she is a fine player she took good care of this trumpet. However there are areas where the lacquer has worn off. But overall the trumpet is in good shape.
The Jupiter Carnegie XL series is considered a bit better than your average student model horn. It has a sterling silver lead pipe and monel valves.
Jupiter can no longer use the word "Carnegie" in there marketing due to some trademark restrictions with Carnegie Hall. So you won't see new trumpets with this same name.
This would make an excellent beginner trumpet. Please note the purple tape around the handle. The young lady who had it put that tape on to "decorate" her case. The handle is good underneath but I'm going to let the buyer deal with peeling off the tape and cleaning the residue! Or maybe you like purple :)
