Vintage 1963 Silvertone Series 600 Auditorium Size Harmony Built Pro SEtup New Strings Original Case

A beautiful Vintage 1963 Silvertone Series 600 Auditorium Sized Flattop Acoutic Guitar with its original Soft Shell case. Its in great shape.

These cool guitars were made by Harmony. It has Harmony Open Back Waverly Tuners, Harmony nut, Harmony Neck, Harmony bridge and probably a Harmony body. You can't quite make out the model number by the neck heel but it looks like a Harmony H Model. Very good build on this cool guitar.

They made these guitars from 1956 thru 1971. It was Silvertones most popular model of guitar. They sold a bunch of these. We dated this one from the F-63 stamped in the sound hole. Also a Harmony Guitar feature. See pic 6.

All we did to this guitar is clean it up and put a new set of 11 gauge Dr Ducks Phosphorus Bronze Strings on it. It plays great. I was suprised that it didn't require a neck reset. Most of these do. The bridge is nice and tight to the body. Aided by the the Harmony Bolts that secure it. The Pickguard is nice and flat. No breaks to it. The frets are also in great shape. Plenty of life left in them. Nothing to do to this guitar but play and enjoy it.!

The 600 series guitars are known by several model numbers, and share two similar looks, and might fool you. The first ones offered from 1948 through mid-1956 have a rounded bottom, and the 'peaked' pickguard. After that, the body shape became noticeably more 'square.'  It was (and remains today) one of the most popular Silvertone acoustics, selling well throughout the life of this well-loved and much-played guitar, and in today's collectors market.
