Vintage 1940's Turner 211 dynamic microphone satin chrome w cable 77A 101C WORKS

         Hello and welcome to The house of Chrome.

 You are looking at one of the most iconic and collectible Turner mics of all time. The Turner 211 with heavy deco influence and outrageous style that set it apart from most other microphone designed at that time. This mic comes with a short period cable in which to operate.

 You'll see in pic # 2 an old 1949 Turner advertisement showing specs and priced on these 40's era mics.

 The 211 series was first introduced in the 1940's and had a run of about 15 years. The first generation 211 mics had a rounded lower pistol grip while the 2nd generation had the flat rectangular lower pistol grip. Otherwise, the microphone looked exactly the same. The 211 series also came with either a crystal or dynamic element. The crystal elements were inferior and wore out over time while the dynamic elements sounded much better and tended to last over the decades.

 This is the dynamic version. This 211 has been tested and the mic still works despite having heavier wear. This was a general purpose mic originally and omni-directional. It would be ideal for a HAM radio set up or a harp mic. This also has that old school "rockabilly" tone being void of bass and great for replicating the sound of songs form the 1940's and 50's as these were often used for recording.

 As you can see the satin chrome finish has heavier signs of wear on it's all metal body with satin chrome finish. There are scratches, pitting, dings and slight chrome loss on most of the mic but still it survives...and the stories it could tell. The inner black cloth screen is perfect and the joint mechanism is flawless offering plenty of resistance to get the right angle needed and the threads for both the cable and stand are perfect. Overall this is cosmetically a 5 + on a scale of 1 - 10. The Turner badge looks pretty rough as well and mostly legible.

 You'll notice that the mic comes with the short cable. It's just 6 feet long but has the standard male 1/4 inch end connector. The cloth cable is soft, pliable and in very good condition.
