About This Listing

Today, Lawman Guitars is Presenting..

A beautiful 1977 USA Fender Mustang Guitar in Faded White to Golden Amber... It comes with the Original Fender Orange Plush Hard Shell Case....

I am dating this to 1977 from the serial number on the headstock..

Be sure to check out the cool Video Demo we produced for this excellent Fender Guitar!

I especially love the really cool color. Its hard to believe that these guitars were once White. The fading of the color is just beautiful... This guitar has been around, has some dings and scratches, but no breaks or anything other than superficial things…With the Original Black pickguard, this is the color combo you want in one of these. I love the look!

This fantastic Fender Mustang guitar has dings and scratches as you would expect from a guitar of this vintage. It was Pro owned and Pro Played. The wear is all player wear and not abuse. Its worn in all the right places …see pics... The pickups sounds massive and the action is low and set up great. It appears to have the original nut. Original Pickguard, tailpiece, and Fender F Tuners. We even have the original whammy bar. These don't screw in. They just float in the space.. The frets are still in great shape and happy that the original pickups are here and sound awesome! Its a solid guitar. Weighs in at 7 lbs 2 ozs. Check out the pics of this beauty. Its awesome!

Heres some info I found regarding the use of the two Pickup Selector Switches..

Each pickup has its own switch.
The switches are 3 way sliders.
The middle position is off, and the outside positions are on.
So if both switches are in the middle both pickups are off, and you shouldn't hear anything through the amp.
If one switch is off and the other is in either on position you'll get that pickup by itself--it doesn't matter which way you slide the switch out of the middle position--it's the same.
The only time the on position matters is when both pickups are on.
If both switches are on and they are both closer to the neck or both closer to the bridge--then the pickups are in phase with each other.
If they are both to the inside or both to the outside--then the pickups are out of phase. So there are two ways to have the switches so the pickups are in phase & two ways to have them out of phase--again it doesn't matter which way.

So here are all the settings..
Both pickups off
Bridge pickup on & Neck pickup off
Bridge pickup off & Neck pickup on
Both pickups on in phase
Both pickups on out of phase.

Here's what Reverb has to say about these cool guitars...

Introduced just before the CBS takeover of Fender, the Mustang was part of a redesign of Fender's line of student level guitars which included the Duo-sonic and Musicmaster. The Mustang offered somewhat more sophisticated electronics than earlier student guitars and also featured a 24-inch scale length. In its earliest era, the Mustang was available in a shorter 22 1/2-inch scale length, but these guitars are very uncommon. Since being discontinued in 1982, the Mustang has been reissued a number of times, and has found some popularity among alternative and indie rock players.

Years of Production: 1964 - 1982
Body Style: Offset solidbody
Wood Composition: Alder body, Maple neck with veneer Rosewood fingerboard
Design Elements: Bolt-on neck, dot inlays, two single-coil pickups with no visible pole-pieces, tremolo tailpiece, two on/off pickup switches, master volume and tone controls
Finish Specifications: White is one of the original finish options for the Mustang.
Notable Players:  Kurt Cobain, John Frusciante, David Byrne

This cool Fender guitar has a full 24 inch scale neck. The nut measures 1 5/8 inch. Very manageable neck with a nice round C profile. The action is set low with a new set of 9's, for really fast playing. Our Techs do a great job!

As cool as the guitar is, the original case is also fantastic. It’s the Original Fender Orange Plush lined Hard Shell Case …The latches, handle and hinges are all correct and still operating. The cool Fender Orange lining is still there and in very good shape. The case top doesn't seem to open all the way. It doesn't want to remain open. Otherwise, its a great original case. Even the neck restraint strap is still with it..What a time capsule this guitar and case is… Its old. I would get a modern case to travel in. This cool vintage case belongs under your bed to keep it together.

Sold as-is no returns as its vintage and used. Thanks for respecting that.
