(NEW) If you come up with a list of today's top acoustic guitar makers, it would be a serious mistake not to include Bourgeois.  Over 40 years and 10,000 guitars into his career, Dana continues to experiment and innovate.  This D Vintage HS has a subtle ergonomic feature that might make all the difference for your extended playing comfort... read on!

It's been almost 10 years since Dana Bourgeois had the foresight to bring torrefied tone woods to the high-end acoustic guitar market, and it wouldn't be an overstatement to say that it has changed everything.  What once had players skeptical (how can a brand new guitar sound so good?) has now become ubiquitous, and almost every guitar maker of note offers torrefied (aka thermo-cured, aka baked) spruce tops as an option on their builds.  Aside from the tonal benefits like a dry, played-in, vintage-inspired sound, there is also more dimensional stability to the wood, and it doesn't shrink and swell with changes in humidity to nearly the extent of non-treated wood.  It's a win-win-win!

This lovely guitar has a beautiful Aged Tone Adirondack spruce top, uniform in color, and straight-grained Indian rosewood.  It has classic "28" style good looks, but if you look closely, you'll notice an important upgrade: Dana's recently developed forearm comfort bevel, which rounds off the edge on the bass side of the lower bout.  Almost impossible to see from a few feet away, this feature couldn't be more important, as most people abandon dreadnoughts because of playing discomfort related to the side digging into the picking arm.  Those woes are a thing of the past with Dana's comfort bevel, once you try it, you'll likely never go back!

Specs: 1 3/4" nut, 2 5/16" string spacing at the saddle, long scale.  Ebony fingerboard and bridge, bone nut, pins and saddle.  Ivoroid top binding and butt wedge, zipper back strip, herringbone top border.  Adirondack spruce braces with animal protein glue construction.  Waverly tuners.  Includes TKL hard case.

The next generation of Bourgeois dreads is here!  This one can play all day, every day.
