LEFTY! Vintage Early 1973 Original Fender USA Telecaster Ash Body Blonde Relic 1 Piece Maple Neck 7.6 lb HSC

This vintage 1973 Fender USA left-handed Telecaster guitar is an original survivor, and features the original Blonde finish on a solid Ash body. Left-handed Telecasters from this era are seldom seen with their original finish. The finish is in vintage condition with all natural play wear and some weather checking and wear shown (a few finish chips, and a few minor holes filled in where there was once a square Les Paul style Jack plate.)


The body features 3-ply white pickguard, original pickups with windings, 1973 Stackpole pots, knurled knobs, Cornell Dubilier “Circle D” ceramic disc capacitors, 3-way CRL 1452 switch, Daka Ware switch tip, Switchcraft output jack, and output jack retainer cup. All of these parts feature their original natural play wear and patina.


The neck is exceptional quality and features gorgeous 1 piece Maple construction, medium size frets (slightly wider than vintage), fully original finish including headstock logo, and original Fender F logo tuners and string retainer guide. This neck features the standard 25.5” Fender scale, with 1.61" bone nut (41mm), 7.25” fretboard radius, 21 medium frets, and comfortable .88” / .96” thickness large C profile. There is one small hole on the headstock face filled in from an additional string retainer (though it may have been original). Fortunately all tuning keys are straight and in good working condition as well.


The electronics are in great working condition and the guitar is set up with regular lights for great tone. As a bonus, many extras are included as well: It ships in the very rare and original late 1960s left-handed black hardshell Fender case with orange interior and all working latches. Bonus extras include vintage 1970s Fender strap, 1970's Fender ashtray cover, and a very rare vintage 1973 Fender Telecaster manual in original condition (with warranty card). This vintage case with vintage extras has a value upwards of $2,000.


I have this priced accordingly given that it is original and other sellers are asking upwards of $21,500 for modified left-handed vintage Fenders in custom color Black (in fair condition and with additional routing), and there are early 70s Telecasters priced upwards of $30,000.


This guitar sounds superb and very spanky, chimey, with simply unbelievable tone and infinite mojo. A total weight of just 7.6 lbs is very light for a 1970s Telecaster and makes this guitar a joy to play. This is a quality vintage guitar made by Fender USA, is hard to find left handed, and has the finer build quality that late 60s / early 70s Fenders are famous for.

Ahead of schedule delivery intact. This excellent specimen of a 1998 cij67/68 Hendrix natural ash body guitar was described physically on spot. Hearing and feeling are hard to convey online. Love the small-dimensioned neck still retaining nice resonance. It's a keeper before and after the amp is on. Way to go with providing near new case and it's candy, on top of it all, a wall hanger, wow. Thanks Leftys!
