These monitors sound incredible and are a terrific deal

The monitors have some cosmetic scuffs. I took pictures of these in glaring sunlight to make them clear, but they are far less obvious indoors in normal lighting. Keep in mind that the monitors are matte black, not gray as they appear in the overexposed pictures.

The monitors are designed to take a robust signal and be played at relatively high volumes. The signal present light doesn’t turn on until you’re hitting about spl 85. At low signal levels, the tweeters sometimes do not pass signal. This is immediately remedied by cranking up the volume while music is playing, then turning it back down.

I corresponded with Rode/event service for several weeks of trouble-shooting, and they concluded that poor signal was the culprit.

In an effort to be fully transparent — I conclude that the monitors function as designed. If, however, you decide otherwise and have the monitors serviced for the tweeter issue only, I will pay for the service portion within 3 months of sale, provided that Rode actually does something other than test them and conclude that nothing is wrong. I won’t pay for testing that is inconclusive or finds no problem, nor for shipping because I can’t afford it. I will pay the invoice directly to Rode after speaking to service, to a maximum of $300.

The price reflects the above design issue.
