The Ibanez BTB Series is one of Ibanez's main bass ranges. With an ethos of boutique design and quality at affordable Ibanez prices, the BTB range is uniquely special.
The BTB550MP features mahogany body with maple top and back bolted to a maple and walnut neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot position markers and white side dots. The body has a double cutaway design with very distinctive, narrow, curving horns. Components include a pair of Ibanez DFR-4 passive pickups with a Vari-Mid IIIB 3-band EQ, a MR-2 bridge with 19mm string spacing, a locking Neutrik stereo output jack, a plastic nut and die-cast tuning machines. The BTB550MP was discontinued after 2007.
