Here’s an absolutely killer Kalamazoo built 1960 Epiphone E-422T that the original owner put in a 62 PAT NO PAF Humbucker (with original M69 pick up ring and screws) and an original Centralab wiring harness (6 digit codes dating 1957 and 1958. 500k Volume with a 250k tone pot and bumble bee paper in oil cap).
The guitar it self is in excellent condition for its age A nice strong color with nice finish checking thats to be expected on a guitar of this age. There are some light picking scratches in the finish on the top above the bass side of the guitar on the upper bout. Some scratches on the back. My luthier put a vintage correct saddle on the bridge (bottom part is original). The Brazilian Rosewood board is beautiful - nice and dark with great figuring. Frets are in excellent shape with one light divot on the first fret under the b string that does not affect playing condition. Original Single line Kluson deluxe tuners that turn smoothly and work great. Two of the small brass brads (little nails) are missing on the headstock epiphone badge and can cause it to rattle when playing acoustically. The original Hyde glue under the heel cap had dried out, but I had it repaired without refinishing the entire back of the guitar. The repair is solid and will be good for the foreseeable future.
The guitar has been meticulously set up and plays wonder as well as sounds amazing! Great action with no buzzing! Dead straight neck with a fully functional truss rod. A pleasure to play! Amazing sound plugged in and unplugged
The 62 pat no PAF had to be rewound as it had a broken coil and caused the pickup to sound out of phase. I had Joseph Kaye Guitars in London (One of the best vintage guitar luthiers in England. Check him out!) rewind the pickup. All the specs are in the picture. He did a fabulous job nailing down the details and you’d be hard pressed to know it was rewound. The pickup sounds amazing, and has that incredible PAF bloom and dynamic touch response that they are famous for.
Original chipboard case included. Separation on the handle side as pictured. All of the latches work well.
Please check photos for condition and message me with any questions you may have. Sold as described. Guitar will be professionally packed and shipped with reverb safe shipping for peace of mind. Thanks for looking!
