This is unbranded but to the best of my knowledge , based upon other examples I've found online and instruments I've owned in the past this is a early 1900s greman made mandolin. I've owned a Robert barth mandolin that had the same tuning machines and the same paper covering inside . But if you have another idea of who the maker could be please let me know . I couldn't find another example with this top inlay design. A few others with the same machines ,body construction and binding. Take a close look at the tuning machines, they are very early pieces of hardware. The tuning buttons are made of tusk or bone . The gears are stamped or crimped onto the shaft . Very early vary rare . If you might need the tuners for another project throw me an offer on just the tuners. And with that comes the condition of the instrument. It will need restoration. The top is cracked in a couple places but a good Luthier could fix it . The neck looks to have been repaired at some point . It has all the common blemishes an instrument this age would have but still looks decent. Please look at all the pics closely, I tried to capture the defects. Please ask any questions before purchasing this is being sold as is for parts or repair with no returns or refunds
