I have a 2023 PRS CE-24 Semi-Hollow body here with it's factory soft case and paperwork.
Conditionally you are in for quite a treat here. This one is a barely used 2023 model. So conditionally it's absolutely pristine. I can see just the faintest traces of pick strumming but extremely minute. There are no marks or dings, nor any patterns surface swirling and no fretwear. Everything is stock. I have inspected the setup and it plays immaculately.
So as is my standard on guitars like this i will conservatively rate it a 9.8/10 and grade as excellent. This is the highest quality i see in a guitar conditionally and it is quite enjoyable to process it for that reason. It is a nice opportunity if you have been contemplating getting a new one but are open to a immaculate used one.
As you know the CE is a bolt on model. It sounds like less of a departure from a well made set neck guitar than most bolt on's that i have heard. If you look at the neck joint it is actually set fairly deep into the guitar body, so it's more of a bolt in then a bolt on guitar. I find that it has the snap and clarity and "fast" tone that you get from a bolt on. But it has that same uninterrupted continuous sustain that characterizes a set neck guitar. A really good bolt on will have that. I have heard this in a Suhr Standard and a Kiesel Aries as well.
The other thing going for this guitar is a solid maple neck shaft. Head to head this is going to have a brighter more aggressive tone then a mahogany neck. Maple necks are less common on PRS's, mostly just seen on the CE's. I think it's actually the best neck wood choice. It has excellent attack, sustain, and dynamics, and it is less prone to the minor warping that occurs to guitars from the weather changes from season to season. Maple is solid and durable.
Next up is the bridge. What you are going to hear from this is the sweet, harmonically rich overtones from proprietary hardware. The Ce-24 Tremolo to my ears sounds a little smoother and not quite as sharp and pingy as the ones used on the core Custom 24's. It has a warm blended easy on the ears harmonically rich tonality.
The semi-hollow aspect of this guitar opens up the tone a bit giving it a bit more bloom and warmth particularly in the mid range. It still has a fairly "solid" body resonance though the guitar is not feather light and does not sound airy or thin. More so just a bit more bloom and open sounding. Not a Huge departure from the solid body version in my opinion.
I feel it's a great all around guitar. Another observation i have had is the PRS pickups here sound outstanding in single coil mode. This is a coil tapped guitar. And many times i will have a guitar where the single coil mode sounds like garbage and it reinforces the stigma that you should either have a humbucker guitar or a true single coil guitar and no in between. The single coil bridge tone here sounds so good it will make a Strat envious. Somehow the ratio of split works, almost like it was designed this way for half of the humbucker to sound completely like a full and independent single coil pickup.
Note that this listing may come down at anytime as I am a multi-platform seller and do sell locally as well in an effort to keep sales fluid. State sales tax will be charged on Reverb sales when applicable, so factor that in to your purchase.
I will immaculately pack it as well. I use quality shipping boxes, ample tape on all sides. And sufficient bubble wrap filler and bracing inside the box. And always Marked/denoted as fragile. I generally detune guitars 1/2 half step prior to shipment as well if needed.
Thank you for reading and considering!
