Matsumoku Solid Body Guitar - 1960’s Made in Japan 🇯🇵! - Killer Guitar! - Awesome Pickups! -

This one rips! Super great guitar from the 1960’s Japanese Matsumoku factory. Most of these have age-related issues but a few of them have made it to present day as good players, this one sounds and plays great!

The Matsumoku factory in Japan was on fire in the 60’s/70’s, they made an insane range of really nice guitars from traditionally made classical guitars to Univox that embodied the sound and spirit of early punk rock. This one has some early Univox vibes. Miraculously the tremolo works great! Most of the time they’re missing something and just don’t stay in tune too well, but this one is really nice and it‘s totally complete. The pickups sound awesome, very full and beautiful with a wide range. It plays great! Sometimes the necks on these are like a banana, and when they’re like that they’re kinda done. This one is really straight and it plays like a champ. There’s some buzzy frets, but that does kind of go with the territory of these. Overall it plays great and is way better of an example of one of these than 95% of ones that you normally find, they weren’t really thought of as being quality instruments so a lot of them fell by the wayside over the years. The headstock had a repair, looks like it was filled in a bit up by the high e string. Someone cared enough about this guitar to make it nice and take care of the aesthetics like that. Great guitar!
