About This Listing

Wonderful vintage Coronado! I When I bought this I was told it was a '67 which seems correct based on everything I've seen. The finish is scratched and faded in places but it plays great and sounds even better. It has the original DeArmond pickups although I had them rewound because there seemed to be some kind of short. Tone is still the same but now there are no problems. I love the sound of these things although they feedback a lot. Pots are a little scratchy and sometimes the volume dips when changing pickups. The electronics could probably use some more TLC. Comes with original case which apparently someone tried to hold together with duct tape at some point!

Product Overview
The Fender Coronado II was a part of the short-lived Coronado Series, designed by Roger Rossmeisl after the CBS buyout. The Coronado II was one of the first Fender hollowbodies, sporting two single-coil DeArmond pickups and an optional tremolo system. Unfortunately, Fender's attempt to enter into the hollowbody market failed; the Coronado II and its siblings didn't catch on and only lasted through a few years of production; however, their uniqueness has made them beloved by some players and collectors.
