New ‘62 Harvard 6G10 re-creation w/P10R

The Harvard 6G10 was only produced by Fender for two years in 1962 & 1963 and is regarded as the rarest of all the Fender production amplifiers with only a handful produced. For this special run of Harvards, the Tweed Princeton 5F2-A circuit was updated to “6G10” with a unique pairing of Schumacher transformers. Until fairly recently, it was thought that, although Fender had drawn up the 6G10 schematic, an actual amplifier was never produced (see page 98 of “Fender Amps-The First Fifty Years”.) Then, about 10 years ago, a 6G10 that had been “used by Jerry Garcia in the tour bus” popped up for sale and proved this “Super Princeton” really did exist! Another big fan of the 6G10 is Keith Richards who has a modified version he named “One Love” and is seen in the background of his studio shots. To my knowledge, only nine original 6G10s have surfaced in the past decade.

This hand-wired build is a faithful and very accurate re-creation of the 6G10. All the details are there right down to the original chassis ground locations, and a reproduction tube chart label with “Princeton” oddly crossed out and “Harvard“ hand stamped at the top. This re-creation also has a pairing of Hammond transformers that very closely match the measured specs of an original pair of vintage Schumachers (125P1A / 125A2A). The beautiful tweed covered pine cabinet is finished in a rich dark lacquer for a great vintage look.

PLEASE NOTE that this is a NEW custom hand-wired re-creation using select quality components and has been thoroughly tested and documented. Caps are F&T and Mallory. Chassis is steel not aluminum. Cabinet is ¾” solid pine and precision-machined ¼” finger joints. The baffle board is constructed from baltic birch ⅜” plywood with ¼” trim strip. The back panels are constructed from baltic birch ¼” plywood.

Carefully packaged with tubes removed, wrapped and boxed.
