About This Listing

Here's a circa 1910 Carl Fischer / New York mandolin, in very good condition. This is one of the rarest mandolins made by Lyon & Healy for the New York musical supply company, Carl Fischer. Old growth woods would be considered the top of the mark by today's vintage standards....these high quality mandolins are SO underpriced!

Joinery and woods are excellent. Neck set and neck straightness look great. This will be a fairly easy set up. There is a shim under the bridge...a new bridge should be made. There is one gear missing on a tuner strip....so this will have to be replaced or new tuners installed. Otherwise, the mandolin is structurally solid and there are no major issues. It looks great! All the joints and binding work appear solid and no repairs needed.

The original canvas case is cool in its own right and fully functional, although the leather handle strap has decayed. The three latches on the case are in working order. Some minor restoration work could be done on the case if the new owner prefers, but it is pretty good as-is, as a display piece or even to use.
