About This Listing

This guitar came to me in basket case condition, I am a professional luthier and refinished it. Included are pictures from before finish was sprayed so that you may see what’s beneath the finish. All parts are brand new. There is a visible crack on the lower cutaway that has been inundated with glue but I decided to leave visible through the finish as to keep some of the guitars mojo. It has been fretted with .104 x .047 Jescar evo frets. The pickups are Seymour Duncan SH-2B and SH-4 JB with gold covers. Traditionally the inlays were made of pearloid however two inlays were lost and are now mother of pearl. If you have any questions feel free to ask. This guitar is in my opinion one step above player grade vintage but obviously not a collectors piece.

Product Overview
The Gibson SG was introduced in 1961 as a complete replacement for the Les Paul. The new design was thought to be a more modern solidbody guitar, with sleek beveled edges and two sharp cutaways. By late 1963, the Les Paul moniker was dropped, and the SG (or Solid Guitar) became an entirely separate model. The SG has remained in steady production ever since earning a place as one of the truly classic solidbody guitars.

Notable Players:  Tony Iommi, Angus Young, Derek Trucks, Jeff Tweedy, Robbie Krieger
