The I35 LC is the result of a custom laminated construction technique that Bill Collings and his R&D team developed in pursuit of the best tonal qualities of vintage semi-hollow guitar design. The I35LC is the first of a line of laminate instruments designed to respond acoustically in perfect harmony with their electronics. Every detail of these Collings instruments is perfect; from the workmanship to the playability and tone.
The pickups are two Lollar Low Wind Imperial Humbuckers. Based on lower output PAFs often found in vintage 335s, this pickup boasts a brighter overall tone compared with the standard Lollar Imperial. This results in exceptional definition for any chord voicing and overall great presence for cutting through the mix.
To add to the vintage character the Jet Black finish has been masterfully aged! All this places the I35LC among Collings' most articulate and versatile electric models.
