This is a Unicorn Mandolin no. 058. Only
149 Unicorn Mandolins were produced and they were handmade by Rolf Gerhardt in San Antonio,
TX. It has been repaired and set-up by a professional and had a Fishman bridge
pickup installed.
Scale length is 35 centimeters or about 13 3/4" with a
1 1/8" nut. Was refretted with jumbo frets.
This mandolin is very rare and sought after. It has
plenty of character but it plays like a dream.
It's hard to read but the tailpiece has "Spirit of 76" engraved on it. It has a nice arched case.
This mando has a loud voice and a great ring.
Some go their whole life
without seeing a unicorn, you don't wanna pass this up! Ask anybody who's ever owned or played a Unicorn and you'll understand
why these hard to find mandolins are so sought after by collectors.
