Quick notes:
1 — This is consigned.
2 — Any repair work has been done so it plays spot-on unless otherwise noted!
3 — I usually ship in 2-3 days but sometimes can get backed-up if a lot of orders come in at once. I like to make sure I have time to check the setup, restring if the strings are tired, and make any adjustments needed before shipping. If you need faster shipping, please make me aware!
4 — Please read the following text for full details and specs -- it's borrowed from my original blog post on it...
My comrade-in-guitars, Jason Twigg-Smith, has been continuing to build a lot of excellent gear. This one is his prototype of a new model for him, the "Astro." He was searching for something old-fashioned and accessible but also new and fun. I think he's hit upon something, frankly! This body shape reminds me a bit of old Alamo electrics with a little Teisco surf spirit and Gibson Explorer thrown-in. It's classic and fresh at the same time.
It's also simple and very functional as well. It's got a single humbucker in the middle position that sounds great on its own but also coil-splits via the volume knob into a single coil mode as well. Between these two and playing with your amp settings, you can get a ton of control over your sound. The hardware is all simple and quality Gotoh stuff, too.
It has a three-piece maple/butternut neck with a two-way truss rod installed. Access is at the heel in retro Fender style. Its body is "wormy butternut" (thus there are open ends of the bug-tunnels in the finish) and it's finished in an interesting greeny-yellow that stands-out and fits well with the exciting body shape. Said body shape fits the lap comfortably, too, and the body's edges are contoured just enough to give it some "hug."
