Matchless Custom 100W Head 1991 Built By Mark Sampson owned by Mike Wanchic

This Matchless Custom 100W Head is part of the private collection of John Mellencamp's guitarist Mike Wanchic & Echo Park Studios.

Matchless Amplifiers was founded in 1989 with a simple philosophy: Build the best, most versatile amplifier possible. Built and designed by professional musicians for professional musicians, Matchless amplifiers live up to their name. Made in California, Matchless crafts hand built, point-to-point, class A, guitar and bass tube amplifiers.

This handbuilt 100W tank came direct from Mark Sampson on 11-12-91. Mike has received two of these custom identical amps and decided shortly after receiving them that they were far too powerful for the Mellencamp live set.

These amps had remained a studio staple ever since. These amps do not come without their issues. Evidence of drinks on the amps, smoke damage and storage damage. We have done our best to capture these cosmetic issues through photographs.

Be advised this does not effect how killer these sound.This particular Matchless amp comes complete with clear markings on the front panel breaking down Mike's personal tone preferences.

This should be ready to rip out of the box and rock.
