Offering a vintage late 1930's Astatic D104 Microphone. The D-104 was introduced in November 1933 and quickly became a favorite of AM ham operators for its high frequency response which resulted in very intelligible audio. These early D-104's use a larger 1" thick case and have a large riveted ID tag, unlike the later smaller versions with a simple stick-on ID label. (This early badge shows "Astatic Microphone Laboratory Inc.") Other variations appeared from time to time until 2001, when production ceased - an incredible 68 years of production.
This early D104 is in good condition with only very minor patina on the chromed casing, and has the the older riveted Astatic maker's tag. It's original crystal element was dead, so has been replaced with a new D104 dynamic element that closely resembles the audio profile of a crystal, with high to mid-range dominant response. We've provided the female Amphenol connector cable with 1/4" phono plug plus handle. Total length is 12". ** Audio sample available upon request. Always safe secure packaging and fast fair shipping. **
