Here is my backup JV Strat from back in the day (my main was a '62 JV). Neck date is August 1983.

It's a glorious perfect example of why the original JV's were such fantastic instruments.

The neck has a lovely rounded C slim maple fretboard which is super comfortable, and a lightweight body with a fantastic tone.

The guitar is as close to original spec as you can probably get now, with just the addition of Schaller strap locks and a 5 way selector.

In terms of condition, there are a couple of dings in the neck lacquer, some small impressions in the lacquer on the body, a little dent next to the bottom straplock and the underside of the headstock has some removed lacquer, as does the end of the fretboard. The metalwork has a degree of age-appropriate burring as you'd expect from 1983. None of this affects the playability or the fundamental look of the guitar at all - most of the examples I've seen are in worse condition. It's not a closet classic but it's in great nick for its age. I've tried to get everything in the photos.

I've not wanted to sell this guitar for years because I had the full set, with the '62 and the 52 Tele JV's. But it's just not getting played and I just can't justify keeping it in a case forever. I'd rather somebody was playing it as it's such a brilliant guitar.

It doesn't come with a trem arm, but it's USA thread, so a Callaham or such like would fit fine.
