Attenuated Nearness is a 6hp version of the Nearness minimal panning mixer. an improvement upon the original Nearness, Attenuated Nearness also features 7 inputs and 2 outputs, this time with per-input attenuators for further dialing in your mix. aside from this addition, Attenuated Nearness functions identically to the original Nearness - any signals you patch to the inputs will come out the outputs, scaled according to the input's distance from each output.
for example, in a simple stereo setup with the top jack representing the left output and the bottom representing the right, a signal sent to the second jack from the top would primarily come out of the top (left) output with only a trickle of signal coming out the bottom (right) output. patch into the next jack down (third jack from the top) and you'll hear the signal at both outputs, but much higher in amplitude at the top (left) output than at the bottom (right) output. patch into the centermost jack and your signal will from both outputs equally. while this simple design is perfectly suited for quick audio mixing, Nearness is DC-coupled - combine up to 7 CV sources and receive two variations of the mix at the outputs!
this Attenuated Nearness was assembled by-hand here at Teleos Modular. the panel has been (admittedly crudely) modified to allow tight spacing adjacent to other modules. please see detail pictures for an idea of the exact condition of the panel. all controls and jacks have been fully tested and work as expected. includes ribbon cable, insured shipping and 30-day Teleos Modular warranty. sold as-described with any non-warranty returns at buyer's expense and subject to our standard restocking fee.
