Rare old Otwin made around the late 1940s or early 1950s.

Otwin was a German maker of stringed instruments founded by luthier Otto Windisch in 1886. Later in 1935 his son Johannes continued the work until the GDR government decided to join all luthiers into "VEB Sinfonia Markneukirchen" ( later VEB Musima).

Otwin instruments were/are know for their rather simple designs, light build and their high craftmanship. Especially the Otwin guitars are still by many regarded as some of the finest German craftmanship.

This is has a floating neck like an archtop, but a flat top with the ususal hole like a dreadnought etc...

Maybe inspired by Gibson L1?

The guitar is very lightweight and made of all solid woods.

It has a very straight neck, new frets, a good height bridge and plays almoast like new.

There is one little repaired dong on the side.

Tuners are old but work ok.

Nut width: 44,5mm

Action low E string at 12th fret: 2,2mm

Weight: 1,64 kg

Body width/depth: 39,5 / 9,7 cm

The guitar comes in the original case, that is in pretty bad condition, buit still a nice protaction when shipped.

If you want more pictures or have a question, just send me a message.

The guitar is comletely checked, set up and ready to play.

Shipping: The instrument will be shipped with DHL. If you want another currier, let me know. The guitar will be packed well in a sturdy box and with enough suitable packaging material like bubble foil. There is always a certain risk, especially when shipping oversea. But over the last years I shipped many instruments and had not a single damage.

Note:
1. the guitars/basses I sell play well and are completely restored, setup and working
2. the insruments are worth their money and will in most cases increase in value with time
3. if you decide the instrument is not the right one for you, I take everything back within two weeks (buyer pays for shipping)
