The Time Machine collection of guitars are downright odes to the original pre-CBS Leo Fender-era guitars. They are reissues of specific build years, recreated in detail and with exceptional precision. The craftsmanship and historical-correctness is in everything; from the materials used, to the building techniques as well as the looks. Time Machine guitars are available in different finishes in which the degree of aging would correspond to the following situations:
- N.O.S. (New Old Stock); as if the guitar came new from the workshop at Fender in the specific year in question.
- Closed Classic; as if the guitar has been stored in a closed case since the specific year in question. Unplayed, but slightly aged by time.
- DLX Closet Classic; proudly owned and kept in perfect condition. Played, but damage free and only slightly aged by time.
- Journeyman Relic; played and used, but not abused. Slight playing damage and wear spots.
- Relic; played intensively for years and battered by a life of rock 'n roll.
- Heavy Relic; a hard tackled workhorse. The guitar has survived the owner's tough handling since the 50's or 60's and has come out of it considerably battered but stronger!

This 1963 Precision Bass has a two-piece select alder body, quarter-sawn maple neck with round laminated rosewood fingerboard, 7.25" radius, 20 medium jumbo frets and a 60's Oval U-shaped profile. The elements are a hand-wound vintage 62 Precision Bass pickups with volume and passive tone control. The salad plate is a 4-ply Brown Shell pickguard, the bridge and tuners are vintage correct.
This bass weighs 4.1 kg / 9.03 lbs.

Fender's Custom Shop luthiers have mastered the craft of applying the aged look like no other. This Time Machine has a subtle and artisan Journeyman Relic finish.

Early '60s Fenders are perhaps the most sought after in the authentic vintage category. Fender had well and truly left the experimentation and trial phase of the 50's behind them, and the guitars from 1960 onward were consequently more advanced and consistent in quality and specifications. Should you already be able to find an original 1963 P-Bass, in a good and playable condition, you will pay a small fortune for it. Let alone for a special color, like this 1963 Time Machine in the classic and timeless Daphne Blue finish!
Looking for that typical, roaring P-Bass sound? That slightly mid-scooped, bright in the top high / full-fat in the low end, classic Fender sound; lazy when played with fingers, bouncy and aggressive when played with a pick? Look no further...this is it!

Included is the deluxe, original Fender case, matching accessories and, of course, the certificate.
