1979 and 1980 was the first generation PowerMark XX. This example is from 1980. Much more rare than the PowerMarks that you see in advertising from 1980 to 1984. For years these were thought to be prototypes, but enough have popped up in the US and abroad (thanks to the Internet) that they are now referred to as "first generation." These first generation Powermarks were marketed as Yamaki overseas and Daion here in the United States (note that it has Yamaki branded tuners). Original electronics (see pic).
Super unique striped fretboard - an expensive feature that was dropped in the 1980-1984 model run. Push-pull coil splits on the volume knobs. Brass saddles and nut. Wood control covers. Pickup rings original had a faux wood stain to them that has worn. Electronics work as they should. Guitar has been throughly cleaned and serviced.
Ships in a generic (non Daion branded) hard case, which is fine for storage, but not gig worthy.
