The design was changed in 1965 and became a "non -reverse body", but in about a few years it was changed to a "reverse body" and the production was temporarily terminated in 1969. This 2001 Thunderbird produces an excellent long sustain with a through neck structure using nine layers and walnuts, and has a rich depth to the mid -low range by using a mahogany body.
