For the full story on the Yamaha S08, read this very unbiased, unvarnished review:

Of course the only way to know for sure is to play one or listen to the Youtube link below. This contains quite a few orchestrated pieces with the patches used from this synth. It should be noted that the S08 is not a sequencer but a synthesizer, meaning one can take a patch that exists on the keyboard and synthesize into another patch altogether. But one cannot create orchestrations as in the Youtube link.
Features
The keyboard comes with 88 weighted, balanced, hammer action keys, 64 note polyphony, 3 effect blocks with effect types, and 16-part multitimbrality. It features 25.2MB of waveforms providing over 700 sounds and is GM and XG compatible. There's also a Quick access and category search function, SmartMedia slot, USB port, and MIDI in/out/thru. Looking for a keyboard that plays MIDI files? Well there's a playback sequencer that allows you to play standard MIDI files direct from SmartMedia.
Please be sure of your purchase as this shop does not accept returns. Our feedback speaks for itself. Always clean gear and fully functional (unless otherwise stated), always protected, packaged and shipped with care as though we would like to receive our gear that way!
