Guitar information: For sale is a killer 1962 Gibson Les Paul Special DC that has a little provenance to go with it (see below). The guitar itself was previously customized to include humbuckers, bridge/tailpiece and additional switches but it is pretty close to being back to it's original glory. If you scroll through the pictures you can see what it looked like before one of the previous owners removed most of the custom features. There aren't many original parts left on it and it's obviously been routed for humbuckers. The pickups that are in it right now are OX4 humbuckers and they sound amazing. There was a very thin/short hairline crack in the headstock which one of the amazing techs at Gruhn's repaired. The guitar is solid as a rock, has more character than any guitar I've ever owned (checking, dings, scratches, fills, etc), sounds incredible and comes with a non-original vintage case which is believed to be from the 60's. The only reason that I'm selling it is because it has a relatively thin neck (.77" / .84") and my arthritic left hand cramps up after playing it for a short period.

Parts that I believe to be original to the guitar are: Slab body full of character, the finish itself, the pickguard (trimmed for humbuckers), nut, back plate, and truss rod cover.
Parts that I know for sure are not original are: Pickups (OX4 humbuckers), wiring, knobs (aged Montreux Time Machine), knob pointers (aged historic), switch ring, tailpiece (unknown intonating), pickup rings, tuners (aged and beaten Grover milk bottle), and refretted.
Parts that I don't know if they're original: Strap buttons, jack plate
Provenance information: I recently purchased the guitar from Derek St. Holmes (former Ted Nugent lead singer) who used it on stage some over the last year. It went through a few hands before Derek purchased it and it was part of the legendary Kurt Linhof's collection. It's also got the name "Mark Vinbury" carved into the backside of the rear scratch plate. The only Mark Vinbury I can find on a google lookup is the Mark Vinbury who was part of the 1960's band The Ascots and is now a member of the Rhode Island Musicians Hall of Fame. I've tried reaching out to Mark to see if it belonged to him but I haven't heard back. Meaning, it could have been Mark's or it could have belonged to a Mark Vinbury fan-boy. Aside from these 3 guys there could have been a plethora of other cool guys that owned it or it could have been stowed away in someone's attic.
